Covid Support Administrator

Exceptional times require exceptional people.

Do you want to protect the district and help save lives?

Do you want to make a difference to our community?

Do you want to help reduce Covid-19 transmission?

If so, then we have some great opportunities to join us in our fight against Covid-19

We are looking for a talented Covid Support Administrator to play a key role in supporting the work of our Public Protection team to contain the spread of Covid-19.

You will carry out a wide range of administrative duties to support the pandemic response. You should be able to organise your own workload and will require a full working knowledge of using Microsoft Office including Excel to at least Intermediate level.

This post is temporary for 12 months. The hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday - Friday. Staff cover is required each working day during office hours, and availability for ad-hoc operational requirements necessitating work in the early morning, evening and occasionally at weekends or on Bank Holidays.

The post is based at Morecambe Town Hall but much of the current operational functions will be conducted remotely using MS Teams.

For internal applicants, this role can be a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to business needs, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

We are a Forces Friendly employer, and an Armed Forces Covenant committed organisation. We welcome applications from defence reserves and other members of our armed forces community.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.

If you would like an informal discussion to find out more about the post please call Lynn Turner, on 01524 582733
