Supervising Social Worker - Fostering

About us

Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all

The role

We have a great opportunity for a fostering social work role in one of London’s most diverse and vibrant boroughs. We want people who will focus on our carer, take responsibility, work together and find better ways of doing things. So if you’re full of ideas, enthusiasm, hard-working values, and have a strong interest in improving fostering services, then Camden Fostering service is the right place for you.

The Fostering Team works closely with the Looked After Children and Care Leaver service and the Adoption and Permanence teams. In our September 2017 OFSTED Inspection the Fostering Service was judged to be a good service with Outstanding features for Outcomes for Children and Quality of Service.

Our achievements are numerous and include the implementation of a multi-agency children and young people's strategy, which has assisted the move towards closer integration of services and multi-agency working.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic supervising social worker for our Fostering Team.

You will have responsibility for the supervision, preparation, training, support and review of foster carers whom are offering placements to Looked After Children. This is collaborative role of both assessing and supervising, you will also be required to participate in the Fostering Team’s duty rota over a number of days each month.  In addition to this you will have the opportunity to participate in various other team activities such as delivering support groups, skills to foster program or training to carers.

The role is within a dynamic service, working in a systemic approach under the Camden Model of Social Work.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
