Annual leave - 25 days per year
As part of its ambitious commitment to carbon reduction, Winchester City Council has allocated £15.7million over the next 10 years, to fund retrofit measures to improve the energy efficiency of its housing stock and reduce carbon emissions.
In support of this programme of work the council is now looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Energy Manager. This brand new post in our Property Services team is aimed at someone who is passionate about this area of work, who enjoys engaging with stakeholders to shape strategy, but who is also technically minded, most likely a building surveyor, energy assessor, or retrofit coordinator.
The successful candidate will need to be confident in pursuing grant funding, completing bids to supplement the capital works budget at every opportunity. They must also be comfortable handling large amounts of property condition and energy data and be able to demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge of domestic buildings, in order to develop ‘fabric first’ retrofit programmes for our delivery teams, to drive the move to SAP ‘C’ across the housing stock by 2030.
