Events and Safety Officer

As part of the County-wide response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the gradual lifting of lockdown, funding has been made available to create this new post to co-ordinate the response across all Hertfordshire District Councils, Police and Public Health.

One year fixed-term contract (FTC)

Salary £15,680.60 (Part-time – 18.5 hours per week)

 

An interesting and unique opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Environmental Health team as an Events Safety Officer.

 

You will be responsible for providing assistance, support and enforcement around COVID19 and community safety; predominantly with any events, large or small, occurring in the Borough. You will ensure that cases are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner, in accordance with legal responsibilities and customer service standards.

 

Applicants should have either a BSc/MSc Degree in Environmental Health or relevant experience with event safety.

 

Working hours will be spread between Thursday and Sunday each week and will be arranged on a flexible basis according to the needs of the post. A full driving licence is essential.

 

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this role.
