MUSEUM ASSISTANTS (CASUAL CONTRACT)
Saturdays 9.45 am – 5.15 pm (March – October) 9.45 am – 4.45 pm (November - February)
Sundays 1.45 pm – 5.15 pm (March – October) 1.45 pm – 4.45 pm (November - February) and occasional weekday / evening shifts
Salary – Hourly rate of £10.41
Saffron Walden Museum is seeking to recruit additional museum assistants on a casual contract basis to assist with running the Museum at weekends, stewarding events and helping visitors to enjoy our family-friendly service.
Responsibilities include assisting visitors and patrolling galleries, maintaining a safe and friendly environment for visitors and occasional reception duties at the sales desk. Training will be provided in emergency, security and general procedures and practical tasks.
You will be responsible for helping to deliver a quality service to visitors and should be confident in dealing with members of the public. We are looking for individuals who are friendly, reliable and able to assist with a variety of tasks around the Museum, including moving furniture; general maintenance of premises and equipment, and assisting with basic administration, collections and exhibition work.
A full enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
