Following the Covid pandemic our practice has transitioned into a mixed approach of both virtual TEAMS meetings, and face to face social distanced visits. The team delivers Skills to Foster pre-approval training via a virtual live classroom at the present time, and ensures carers are prepared for panel. The members of this team work closely with child care social workers and supervising social workers when undertaking assessments, and when handing over newly approved foster carers.

Experience of using a wide range of social work techniques with children and families will also be of benefit. Your technical talents should come with a calm, organised approach. You will be supporting others in a crisis and using your initiative to solve issues. You will also have the communication skills to present high quality reports to panels and work with other agencies. You will also need sound IT skills too and be a capable professional.

It is essential that you are a qualified Social Worker who is Social Work England registered. You will know about statutory social work practice and completing complex assessments and ideally have experience of working a Fostering Agency.
