About us

Through the multi-agency Children’s First Project, our Disability Children’s Social Care team are currently re-designing and re-shaping their service. Over the next and forthcoming months, we will be improving our delivery model to ensure that we can consistently offer creative packages of support and care to the children and families who access our service.

We are listening and engaging with our communities and our workforce.  As a result, we are implementing new delivery models, with partnership working strengthening our offer.

We would like forward thinking social work professionals to join our service to safeguard and protect our children and young people in Birmingham delivering improved measurable outcomes.

The work is varied and challenging and encompasses work with children in need to those children in care and everything in between.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Children’s Services safeguarding Team Manager, with a proven track record, who has the passion and drive to focus on managing and motivating our social work teams in delivering best practice.

The work is varied and challenging and encompasses work with children in need to those children in care and everything in between.

You will lead and manage our social workers in providing consistent high-quality service delivery to demonstrate and improve outcomes for our children and young people, with your skills at supporting a culture of excellence and good practice in an inclusive environment.

You will be able to form, develop and maintain strong professional internal and external relationships and manage multi-agency partnership working with education and health, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills on all levels.

You will be part of a strong leadership team, who are at the centre to make these changes happen.

You will have exceptional skills in risk and change management, assessment planning, financial and resource management.  You will work alongside senior management in ensuring optimum performance management and best practice at all times.
