Are you a senior carer looking to develop your career and are ready for a new challenge; do you have a QCF qualification in health and social care, experience of working with older people, excellent communication skills, commitment, a values based approach to your work and a personal drive to improve standards?  If so, then you have the ethos and skills we are looking for.

West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit a Senior Night Care Officer for Notrees Care Home which provides residential care for frail elderly people. We can also accommodate residents with dementia, physical dependencies and mental health difficulties. We offer a caring, safe and homely environment in which our residents can live their lives with dignity.

We are looking for a Care Officer who, as part of the senior team, can support the Manager and Assistant Unit Manager with the development of the home and provide advice, guidance and leadership to the staff team.  The Care Officer will have a hands on role in running shifts and be responsible for supervising and supporting our staff to deliver the best care possible.

This is a fixed term position (Maternity Leave cover) for up to 12 months.

We believe our residents have choices about their care, and we promote independence as much as possible. We aim to offer social and emotional support to our residents in order to meet their individual needs.

As a provider of services we aim to offer a caring, safe and secure environment.  Services are delivered within the context of our values; Respect, Inclusion, Compassion and Empowerment. Those values dictate how we support our residents, their families and each other.

West Berkshire Council offer excellent employment benefits such as flexible working, access to a wide range of relevant training, local government pension scheme, family friendly policies, a range of local discounts and much more. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days per annum rising to a maximum of 32 days plus bank holidays.
