We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile planner who can help us handle a range of major planning applications, appeals and other case work across North Somerset.

You would be part of a busy, team working on a variety of cases and, subject to experience,  may be required to help with the management of that team.  The role involves balancing significant development pressures in a constrained area which includes Green Belt, AONB, extensive areas vulnerable to flooding and other sensitive environments.

Our challenges are wide ranging and as a result there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your experience and skills.  You should hold a degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent and be eligible for membership of the RTPI with a good understanding of the planning application and appeal process.

This is a career graded post and we can offer a range of other benefits including flexible working hours and a friendly and supportive team.  Starting salary will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
