Private Rented Sector Engagement Officer

Fixed Term for 24 months to commence 1 August 2021

Knowsley Council's Strategic Housing Team is responsible for proactively developing and delivering effective responses to the borough's housing needs and aspirations.

The Private Sector Housing Engagement Officer will undertake engagement with both private sector tenants and landlords with the aim of improving the quality and management of the borough's private rented sector. A principal outcome of this role will be the promotion and encouragement of early dialogue between tenants and landlords aimed at sustaining tenancies and preventing homelessness. This will include the inspection of private rented accommodation aimed at identifying and resolving housing condition issues.

The successful candidate will need to show a drive and commitment to preventing homelessness, improving tenacy sustainment and standards in the private rented sector. A willingness to learn, adapt and lead change will also be required.
