Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and performance focused manager to lead a team of both careers guidance and work-related learning practitioners.
Our Service delivery makes a clear contribution to targeted prevention and early intervention. Working within a successful integrated young people’s service this is an exciting opportunity to show strong performance management skills whilst being creative and innovative in achieving young people’s progression.
The Service has a comprehensive portfolio of services mapped against the Gatsby benchmarks. The work of the Service is funded through the Local Authority, external contracts and a successful traded offer with schools and colleges. You will use your experience of delivery in the CEIAG or WRL fields to build on existing traded work, respond quickly and effectively to new initiatives, meet contract targets and promptly resolve any areas of risk.
Supporting and enabling young people’s progression is a core part of the Service’s delivery. You will support your team to work effectively with both individuals and groups to minimise the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training and those at risk of becoming so. The Service has run many innovative programmes and there will be opportunities to both contribute to and develop these.
You will have the opportunity to forge positive relationships with a diverse range of partners, responding flexibly to the needs of young people and the Service. Working with the Area Team Manager you will use your commitment for independent and impartial guidance and work experience to successfully promote our portfolio of services to leaders in a variety of settings.
You will need to be flexible in your working hours to include occasional evening or weekend work and be able to travel across the county and surrounding areas, so daily access to a vehicle is essential.
You will be qualified to relevant degree level, ideally with a Level 6 IAG or Dip CG or QCG, and with evidence of relevant continuing professional development and the ability to put learning into practice.
