HHIA Contract Officer

Job Title: HHIA Contracts Officer
Location: Stevenage
Salary Range: £35,745 - £39,880 pa
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Hertfordshire Home Improvement Agency (HHIA) is a dynamic and fast paced service providing an end to end adaptations service for disabled adults and children across 5 Districts within Hertfordshire in relation to provision of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).

The allocated budget for these districts is circa £3.8 million for 21/22. Upon receipt of an OT referral the Grant can be used to provide essential adaptations to enable more independent living to those living with disabilities. Examples of adaptions include stairlifts, level access showers, internal reconfigurations, garage conversions or single storey extensions. The HHIA team provides a full service from grant application, design specification through to contract management & completion.

HHIA are now looking to recruit a Contracts Officer role to integrate into and support the Technical Team, providing responsive and professional surveying, design and contract management of residential building projects.

Visiting clients in their own homes, you will provide excellent customer service and have an empathetic approach to working closely with our clients, OT professionals, contractors and Housing providers, in coming up with the most appropriate property adaptation solution, whilst adhering to the DFG Legislation.

We are seeking someone who has a proven track record on managing multi-site building projects in the adaptation of dwellings for the less able and with the ability to manage diarised appointments and time effectively.

The role will take responsibility for its own case load, from design through to specification and tender, using the HHIA’s approved contractors and ensure all statutory Building related duties are adhered to. Acting as Contract Administrator for each client, the Contracts Officer will ensure that works are completed to our high standards, on time and within budget.

Knowledge of Microsoft office packages is essential as is an attention to detail, as the Contracts officer will be responsible for all admin and application related tasks, including submitting Building Control notices, drop kerb applications, Planning applications, build over agreements and utility related applications while also updating daily the HHIA’s own Case Management system (CMS), with all project related correspondence.

Knowledge of Party wall legislation is also desirable but not essential, but the role does require the ability and knowledge in the use of Auto Cad, to assist with designs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a busy yet very rewarding role within Herts Home Improvement Agency.
