Rough Sleeper Assessment and Procurement Officer

Rough Sleeper Assessment and Procurement Officer – fixed-term contract for 12 months

Salary range £26,185.64 pa


Working alongside the Rough Sleeper Outreach Officer as part of the No First Night Out initiative, this post will be working with clients who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, to end their homelessness and provide a settled offer of independent, supported accommodation.


This role is responsible for completing a personalised needs assessment and support plan for each client and facilitating appropriate support services are in place to meet their needs. The role is responsible for procuring appropriate accommodation and supporting clients to maintain the tenancy long term. The role will also include outreach work when required, to support the Rough Sleeper Outreach Officer.


If this sounds like something you would excel at, you should enjoy working with people as the role entails liaison and relationship-building with single homeless people and helping them find accommodation. You will also need to be genuinely committed to helping people facing difficulties in their lives with an empathetic approach; experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged people would be an advantage, although enthusiasm and commitment are as important. It is a busy working environment so the ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team is essential. An understanding of homelessness laws will be helpful, but full training will be given to the right candidate. A full driving license is essential.  The role also involves casework and therefore good written and interviewing skills are required.


This role requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Check.


The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential for this role full driving license is essential for the role.
