Tutors for English, Maths & Science
Flexible contracts, £27.50 per hour
Up to a maximum of 3 hours per day which equates to £82.50 per day, potentially £412 per week, £1,650 per month
The person appointed should:
Be a qualified teacher of English, Maths or Science
No experience of teaching in secondary school is required, though this is desirable
The post will focus on providing individual or small group (maximum 3 students) tuition. Tuition will take place mainly on the school premises from 3pm to 6pm each day, and occasionally within school hours.
Work with class teachers to identify individual needs and gaps in learning
Provide individual / small group tuition for sequences of at least 6 tuition sessions at one week intervals, in a way that is consistent with how the students are taught in school (training would be provided)
Tuition would be predominantly face-to-face
Set and mark a weekly homework, using the school’s online learning packages
This post is open to all applicants who match the Person Specification and may appeal to a newly qualified teacher who is looking for more experience before taking up a first teaching post. For such a candidate the school can provide further training experiences. The post may also appeal to a recently retired teacher or part-time teacher who may be looking for an additional post.
Candidates can make flexible arrangements with the school about days of work and durations of contract.
