This role is a unique and exciting opportunity to work directly with the Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan, to support him in achieving his vision for the borough. 


The role
As PA to the Mayor, you will provide high-level and comprehensive administrative support to the directly-elected Mayor of Lewisham. You will manage the Mayor's dairy and be responsible for the administration and organisation of casework and correspondence on the Mayor’s behalf. You will work across the council at all levels to seek to resolve resident enquiries, helping to build and facilitate effective working relationships between the Mayor, Cabinet Members, Councillors, council departments, MPs, external partners, the voluntary and community sector and residents. 

 

Location

Mayor & Cabinet Office, Laurence House, Catford. The team is working remotely at the current time.


What we’re looking for

We are looking for a highly organised PA to join the small team providing support to the Mayor of Lewisham. As PA to the Mayor, you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work on your own initiative, under pressure and with due regard to confidentiality and sensitivity. You will be able to demonstrate experience of managing a heavy workload and prioritising conflicting tasks, and of supporting high-profile individuals in a political or senior executive environment. We are looking for someone who is resilient and confident working in a public-facing role, someone who is comfortable engaging directly with residents of behalf of the Council.
