Are you interested in supporting Tunbridge Wells to become a carbon neutral borough?
Following the declaration of a climate emergency and undertaking an in-house assessment of our own carbon emissions, a new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable graduate to join the Sustainability Team, to help us reach our ambitious target of reducing the Council's emissions to net zero by 2030, as well as reduce emissions in the borough more widely.
We need someone who is not just technically savvy, but also great at working with people - as the successful candidate will be working with officers, residents, councillors and a wide range of partners to deliver real change.
You will need a good understanding about the causes and impacts of and solutions to climate change. In return you will receive on the job training to develop and deliver projects, campaigns and initiatives to drive and support change across the Council and the borough. Within this role you will gain experience in coming up with creative ways to get actions delivered and gain experience in searching for grant funding.
This position will suit candidates qualified to degree level (in a relevant discipline) who are looking to kick-start a career in climate change.

This is an eighteen-month fixed term post for 37 hours a week and will sit in the Housing, Health & Environmental Service and will work across all departments of the Council.
