Casual Cycle Instructors

Do you enjoy being outdoors and cycling?   We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us train the cyclists of the future, we need individuals with strong bike riding ability to deliver Bikeability cycle training to children in schools across our county.

About you… 

  • A confident cyclist with a good level of health and safety awareness
  • Experience in an education or training environment is desirable
  • Experience of working with adults and children of all abilities is desirable 

Ideally applicants will hold the 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training, however, we will also consider individuals without this as full training will be available. 

The Casual Cycle Instructor working hours will be determined on an as and when basis in agreement with the line manager and when courses are arranged. 

About the role… 

The Casual Cycle Instructor will be responsible for the following:

  • To deliver cycle training courses on behalf of Rutland County Council as either a Lead Instructor or an Assistant Instructor
  • To safeguard the participants, other Instructors, members of the public and the environment at all times
  • Provide advice to course participants, parents and members of the public on cycling matters 

Please note the successful candidates will also be involved in delivering adult cycle training. 

 

The successful applicants for the Casual Cycle Instructor will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
