We have a very exciting opportunity in the Library and Resident Contact Team. We are looking for candidates with excellent customer care skills along with an interest in books and reading, an ability to manage, motivate and coach staff, and a heart for the community. You will be delivering frontline services to library and council customers, serving and assisting visitors to the libraries, managing library buildings, volunteers and staff, and assisting with a range of council and other information enquiries. The ability to develop strong relationships with partners will be key.
You will need sufficient skill to promote use of and assist customers with using digital channels and IT facilities. The role also includes housekeeping and admin duties.
All roles require the ability to work at any library location across the Borough, including in a single staffing capacity. Weekend and evening working is required on a rota basis. The scope of the work is physical in nature with staff required to remain on their feet for long periods of time. Flexibility is essential.
