Early Help Family Workers, Runcorn

Runcorn Locality Team are keen to recruit to two permanent vacancies for Early Help Family Workers, one for 37 hours and one for 30 hours. We are looking for practitioners who are enthusiastic and committed to working with families who have multiple and complex needs.

You will need to have a thorough understanding of safeguarding and have previous experience of working with families of children aged 0-18 years who are dealing with issues such as poor adult and child mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, exploitation, missing from home, family breakdown, housing and financial difficulties. You will be working with families living in Runcorn both within their home and in community venues.

The Early Help Family Worker role includes that of Lead Professional to complete MAP assessments, coordinate services and implement & review action plans. You will undertake direct work with young people and their carers in areas such as positive parenting, behaviour management and family relationships, ensuring that the voice of the child influences their support plan. You will be working with other professionals to deliver group work and training to parents, carers and young people.

You will manage an individual caseload and as such be able to prioritise your own workload and meet challenging deadlines. Your case recording must be clear, analytical and timely. In return, you will receive regular high quality supervision & support, wide ranging training opportunities and benefit from the existing knowledge and professionalism of your peers.

The role will involve regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield. Therefore, the post holder must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. Where necessary, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Equality Act.
