Hertfordshire County Council are recruiting a Deputy Head of Service within the Adult Care Services’ Older Peoples Team providing Services to West Hertfordshire.

This is a pivotal senior management position in which you will manage innovative services in a Council with a forward-thinking reputation. Bringing your inspirational leadership skills to a specialist, countywide older people assessment and co-ordination service, you will nurture new and creative approaches across one of the nation’s biggest counties.

You will be instrumental to the strategic direction and high performance of our Older People Service. With a large area workforce, you will be at the heart of an Area team delivering complex work providing personalised and preventative services through our Connected Lives framework to improve outcomes to our citizens and communities and co-produce how this is achieved.

Assisting in service management across the community and providing support to Hospital discharge flows, you will champion integrated working with Health partners. This will include shaping changes and forging relationships with Clinical Commissioning Groups, Community Health Trusts, Integrated Care System and partnerships and all strategic partners.

A manager with a social worker, nurse, or occupational therapist qualification, you will bring to the role substantial experience of operational management. You have a proven ability not just to lead, but to develop a high performing workforce.
