Teacher (MPS)

KS2 position available from January 2022 - Temporary with a view to being made permanent

The Governors of this unique school wish to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed teacher to join our supportive and friendly team. We are looking for a practitioner whose character and skills will fit into our motivated team and who also has a commitment to high standards of learning and teaching. For this reason, and following the disruption caused by Covid, the appointment will be for two terms initially with a view to being made permanent. They will be an outstanding and inspirational class teacher who values children as individuals and has a proven track record for raising academic standards.  They will have high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour.

The vacancy will initially be in a vertically grouped Y3/4 class, with the possibility of moving to a different class in the future.  Our friendly, well-behaved children are eager to learn in a variety of ways.

Aston by Sutton Primary School is a successful, thriving school, judged ‘Good’ at our last inspection. The inspector reported that there is a “…welcoming and warm feel to the school, with strong relationships between staff and pupils. There is a real family ethos, which is much praised by parents, staff and pupils,”

Here at Aston by Sutton, you will find a very welcoming and supportive community which celebrates its unique location and setting.  We offer an inclusive culture, caring, dedicated and supportive staff and governors, well-behaved children, a well-resourced environment and a commitment to high-quality professional development.

If shortlisted, through observation, candidates will have the opportunity to showcase their passion for education; share their ability to successfully plan for a mixed-age class; deliver an engaging and challenging lesson which moves children forward in their learning; and demonstrate high expectations.  Through interview, candidates will demonstrate: a commitment to all aspects of school life; experience teaching a variety of year groups; a track record of effective parent partnerships; and an ability to work collaboratively with all staff.

Visits to the school are welcomed and strongly encouraged prior to application. Please telephone 01928711953 or email  to arrange a visit. All visits will comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Our school and the local authority are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
