In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that financial processes within Legal Services and the wider council are followed. You will also be responsible for maintaining information databases and being a guardian for our case management system, Prescient Plus.

As a Practice Support Officer you will need to meet strict deadlines, therefore the ability to cope under pressure is essential. You will also be providing support to lawyers e.g. preparing reports, creating and amending documents and answering telephone calls. Other duties include administration work with regards to the county’s deeds, legal library subscriptions including post, which will require physical attendance at the office on a rota basis.

This role requires you to work cooperatively as part of a team to deliver seamless business support and provide an administrative service to more than 60 lawyers in Legal Services including clients from other departments within Surrey County Council.

The post is situated in a sensitive and confidential legal environment and requires exceptional organisational and IT skills, with the ability to prioritise work and a clear focus on meeting deadlines. You will be expected to make straightforward decisions relating to your role. On top of this, you will be required to attend our hub office in Weybridge called Dakota as well as other hub sites across Surrey’s estate as per business requirements. Flexible home working is a part of this role and you will be able to work from home up to 3 days per week, subject to business needs and requirements.
