Senior Brokerage Officer - Remote Working

The starting salary for this role is £35,382 per annum, based on a 36 hour week.

We currently have a total of three permanent Senior Brokerage Officer vacancies. Two of these vacancies are for Older People Services and the third is for Disability and Mental Health; one post will take the lead for community-based services, one will take the lead for residential and nursing-type services, and the final post will take the lead for those with a disability or mental health support requirement. Please note that there may be an occasional requirement to work some weekends on a rota basis but this will form part of your 36 hours per week.

Although you will be based at Quadrant Court, Woking, there is flexibility to work across Surrey. The Council is committed to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the ability to deliver rather than the location. There will be service delivery needs that will require attending offices and visiting providers at specific times.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed Joint Brokerage Team which is part of the Adult Social Care Commissioning function. This team leads the management of sourcing appropriate care support for people when they most need it, supporting both hospital discharges and community care. The team has recently grown and these new roles will be leading the future development of the team and its ability to deliver the support frontline teams need.

You will be managing a small team with the responsibility to match the needs of people referred to the team with available services from the market. You will be highly organised, willing to take responsibility, use initiative and be comfortable in managing your own priorities and meeting deadlines. You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that your team and the Joint Brokerage Function can effectively and efficiently support the frontline teams, Commissioners and partners we work with.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with good negotiation and relationship development abilities. You will have a good understanding of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and can work under pressure to tight deadlines.
