Covid Testing Site Team Leader

Do you want to protect the district and help save lives?

Do you want to make a difference to our community?

Do you want to help reduce Covid-19 transmission and promote public health?

If so, then we have a great opportunity to join us in our fight against Covid-19 and promote public health.

SMART testing of asymptomatic COVID-19 cases plays a fundamental part in stopping the spread of COVID-19. We are launching testing for those who are asymptomatic to help identify and isolate individuals who have COVID-19, but do not have symptoms and may inadvertently spread the virus to others.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Team Leader within our existing team.  You will need excellent customer service skills and be passionate about helping in the fight against COVID-19 and help reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

You will be responsible for supporting individuals through the end-to-end testing experience and supporting wider site operations. Key activities include managing social distancing through orderly queuing, supporting customers through registration, providing verbal guidance on the testing process and regular cleaning of the site. You will also support with the preparation and analysis of test samples, and the recording of results.

Moving forward the team will also be involved in health promotion within the schools and other environments.

In addition, as a Team Leader you will also have responsibility for the overall site operations, across a number of sites, ensuring the delivery of the testing services, adherence to health and safety protocol and day-to-day workforce supervision. You will also be required to provide cover for the Covid Safety Advisory Team Leaders.

The safety of the workforce and customers is the utmost priority for all testing operations; full PPE and strict infection prevention and control measures will be in place to ensure a safe working environment at all times, as well as all of the relevant training for the roles.

This role is a temporary role until the 31st March 2022.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week working on a shift rota basis including weekends. The role works out of Morecambe Town Hall but will be mobile around the district. Job share applicants will be considered for this role.

For internal applicants, this role can be a secondment opportunity. When this role comes to an end, a successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

We are a Forces Friendly employer, and an Armed Forces Covenant committed organisation. We welcome applications from defence reserves and other members of our armed forces community.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.
