Business Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional for a role to provide support within the newly created Corporate Assurance Team.You will be flexible, proactive and used to managing several projects and workstreams at the same time.

The focus of this role is to support our assurance arrangements that cover internal audit, risk management, performance management, health & safety and policy. It will be the lead on the annual assurance reporting arrangements such as the annual governance statement, risk registers and audit reports. It will also assist in delivering the Council’s annual service plans and corporate targets.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in an audit, risk management, legal or scrutiny background.You will also need to be able to work to tight deadlines , have strong communication and research skills as well as knowledge of relevant polices, best practice and legislation .

This role will report to the Head of Corporate Assurance , deputise for this role and attend Committee meetings as required. This role will be responsible for managing a small team including some new posts that they will be involved in recruiting . This position is currently for 36 hours per week but we will consider alternative options such as flexible working.
