More about the role:

The Jigsaw Team is excited to announce that due to expansion of the team and the recent addition of a second site, we require a skilled and enthusiastic support worker to work across both sites although your primary location will be Houghton Regis.

In terms of staffing our new hub, we are looking for someone with significant school experience to join our committed and experienced Team. In particular we are looking for people with the creativity and enthusiasm needed to deliver the best outcomes for the children and young people within Central Bedfordshire. Our Website www.jigsawcentre.co.uk will provide you with further details about the way in which the Jigsaw Team work and how we make a difference.

You will take a key role in supporting Vulnerable Primary aged pupils at the Jigsaw Centre and help develop bespoke packages of support to meet individual needs; you will be assisting children with SEMH to settle into the new base and to establish positive relationships with them and then help them transition onto their next school or provision.

The Centre uses a therapeutic approach to help pupils with additional needs become confident and happy young people who are capable of regulating their emotions and contributing positively to society.

If you are looking to make a positive change to the lives of vulnerable children then this may well be the job for you.

You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations, you must be unfazed by challenging behaviour and understand the importance of building positive relationships as a foundation for learning. These children need a positive role model and the right candidate will additionally need to be resilient, empathetic and understanding.

As a Jigsaw Inclusion support worker your role will include regular contact with colleagues from other professions as well as often daily contact with parents and carers.

You will therefore also need to have strengths in communication, both verbal and written.

In order for us to make you fully compliant for work you must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one along with providing 2 references to cover the last 2 years of employment. You must also have a full UK drivers Licence and daily access to a car.

Applicants should write a comprehensive covering letter that addresses how you meet the Competency Framework and your relevant experience for this role as laid out in this advert.

To assess your suitability for the role, you must demonstrate how you meet the key outcomes, accountabilities and competencies. To do this, you’ll need to refer the Family Profile, Role Profile and Competency Framework which can be found in the Recruitment Pack: Inclusion Support Worker
