More about the role:

The aim of BESS is to develop and provide services that support adults, young people, businesses and local communities improve their skills levels, support growth in the local economy and increase the number of people who progress into further training and employment. You’ll find your greatness working closely with colleagues and providers to ensure relevant learning provision is available to support residents of Central Bedfordshire.

 

As a Contract Management Officer (CMO) you will support day to day contract management activities, working alongside the Contract Manager and a number of external providers. You’ll assist with a variety of contract management tasks to ensure our adult learning programme meets key indicators and levels of performance and is contractually compliant. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating, reviewing and monitoring performance data.

  • Updating, maintaining and tracking records and data, using Excel and an electronic data management system.
  • Reviewing funding use and contributing to discussions around commissioning requirements and subcontractor performance.
  • Liaising with subcontractors (both online and, when able, in classroom settings) to ensure all delivery evidence requirements are met.
  • Carrying out no notice visits to ensure contract compliance.
  • Engaging with learners to ensure eligibility criteria are being adhered to.
  • Attending and contributing to performance review meetings.
  • General administrative support and taking meeting minutes will also be expected.

Knowledge of delivering under the Education Skills Funding Agency provision is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Please note this post will include travel to our Adult Education centre in Houghton Regis, provider premises and delivery venues across both Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough.
