Senior Housing Needs Officer (single homelessness)

Senior Housing Needs Officer (single homelessness) – fixed-term contract for 12 months

Salary - £32,977.36 p.a.


You will be required to manage and oversee two accommodation and support projects that the Council provides to support single homeless clients. The duties will involve working alongside the Rough Sleeper Outreach, Assessment and Procurement Officers, the No First Night Out initiative and the Support Officer for single clients. It will focus on the Council’s target of eradicating rough sleeping in the Borough and enables clients to secure settled accommodation with tailored support to maintain accommodation and prevent repeat homelessness.


Responsibilities include managing budgets, producing and maintaining service procedures, ensuring accurate data collection and usage monitoring. You will also be required to provide casework supervision and support to three Officers. You will report directly to the Heads of Housing and works closely with the Council’s partner agencies to achieve its objectives.


Previous management and project experience is essential and housing and homelessness experience is highly desirable. It is a busy working environment, so the ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team is essential.


The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential for this role.


A full driving license is essential for the role.


This role requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Check.
