Private Sector Housing Manager

We are looking for a candidates with private sector housing management experience to join our Housing Needs and Standards team as Private Sector Housing Manager (Senior Specialist Advisor (Private Housing)).

In Housing Needs and Standards, we provide a range of housing services and are committed to meaningful joint working to improve the condition of housing across tenure.  

It is an exciting time to join us as the team is currently reshaping the way it delivers its services and, in this role, you will have the opportunity shape and lead on the way we deliver our Private Sector Housing based work, including the licencing of HMOs, our Disabled Facilities Grants and our responsibilities relating to HHSRS.

You will be responsible for the line management of a team of specialist advisors and caseworkers and supporting a number of occupational therapists who work across tenure. You will work with your staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality housing services.

In addition, you will support the wider ongoing development of joint-working partnerships with other key agencies, with many opportunities for training and personal development. You will use your skills, knowledge and experience to drive performance by identifying, developing and implementing service improvements across the team’s functions.

As well as possessing excellent time management and communication skills, you will be resilient, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Extensive knowledge of the Housing Act and housing grants is essential, as is experience in management and driving performance within a team.
