Communications Executive / Officer

Are you pro-active, hard-working, and confident? Do you know how to research and write informative web pages or news stories and create exciting visual social media content? Are you a recent graduate or looking for a step up in the comms and marketing sector?

We’re looking for a new team member to work with frontline public sector services, on internal communications and corporate campaigns and activities. You’ll also get the chance to work on our print and e-publications, and to do some light touch data gathering.

If you have proven experience in journalism, PR, communications or digital marketing, Runnymede wants to hear from you. The JD and person spec set out the expectations, but you’ll be confident, creative, and curious, and enjoy getting involved in a range of comms-related projects.

You’ll be a vital part of a small, energetic team which will really value your ideas and input. We’ll support you to develop new skills and experiences and to maximise those you already have. We’ll also have your back if things ever get a bit challenging.

We operate like a small agency with a roster of clients who you’ll get to know well and support. Your enthusiasm, experience and understanding of the online platforms and skills necessary for the job will be important so you can contribute from your first weeks in the job.

For an informal conversation about this post, contact Peter Le Riche via LinkedIn. For more information about us: https://www.runnymede.gov.uk/workingforus

To apply please visit www.surreyjobs.info to submit your CV and a letter of 500-2500 words explaining how you meet the job description and person specification. Examples are particularly welcome.

This post sits across grade 8 (Communications Executive) and grade 9 (Communications Officer). Candidates may join at in either grade depending on experience, ability, and skill, and if you start at 8 there’s chance to progress to 9 over time. More details are in the job description.

Closing date: Sunday 10 October 2021 at midnight
