We are looking for a highly organised, proactive communicator to join our team for 12 months to support the council as more of our schools become academies. The role involves coordinating the different activities of council teams and partner organisations and providing regular and timely communications. You will need to ensure that everyone is kept up to date on the status of each transfer and that any issues are identified as early as possible so they can be addressed and not delay the academy conversion.  The role also requires you to prepare and check documents and arrange and administer meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.

The successful applicant will:

  • be the main link between schools and council officers when schools are undergoing academy transfers or other organisational changes by communicating effectively with schools, governors, colleagues, the Department for Education and other community stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • have an eye for detail
  • be able to record information accurately
  • be able to identify and plan when next actions are needed and by who
  • be able to work effectively as part of a busy team including assisting with other areas of work during quieter academy conversion work periods

You will need a vocational qualification or experience to NVQ level 3 or above, relevant to working with education settings and the provision of information, advice and guidance.  The ability to communicate successfully with an understanding of the school system and dealing with committees and statutory bodies is a key part of this role.
