Health & Wellbeing (One You) Advisor

Salary: £11,470 per annum

Location: Town Hall and clinics across the borough

Contract: 6 months Fixed Term Contract

Working Pattern: 3 days per week, Monday - Friday. Occassional evening and weekend work.

Are you passionate about working with people to make key lifestyle changes to improve their health and wellbeing?  We are looking for a highly motivated health professional to join our dynamic Health Improvement and One You Team in Tunbridge Wells.  We form part of an innovative West Kent Health Improvement partnership with Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Councils and KCC to deliver the One You Kent health service in the Tunbridge Wells district.

The successful candidate will carry out one to one health and wellbeing assessments, deliver weight management, physical activity, healthy eating programmes.  You will also deliver brief interventions on smoking cessation and alcohol intake. This work will include travel to clinic locations across the borough. Participation in community and other One You promotional events will form key areas of work.

The service is focusing on delivering weight management programmes to clients with learning disabilities and the Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) population. You will work with the team to target these groups, which may include outreach and engagement work as well as delivering in-house programmes.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues within the council, voluntary, community and health sectors to ensure that the customer is at the centre of a holistic approach to their health needs. 

The post holder will be highly motivated and able to build good rapport with individuals within the community using excellent communication skills. You will have an up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and wellbeing interventions and a passion for developing this knowledge base.
