We are looking to appoint a Planning and Local Government Lawyer with good experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas. You will work alongside the Legal Services Manager and have responsibility for an interesting and varied planning law case load. You will also work alongside other experienced lawyers in the team who conduct the Councils general litigation work and property and contracts.
The role will be demanding yet varied and rewarding. The postholder will be a key member of the Team, taking responsibility for their own caseloads as well as positively contributing to the work of the rest of the team. Our Development Management Team are a busy team with lots of interesting work needing legal support to include, a progressing new local plan, major planning applications, planning performance agreements, processing and assisting in negotiations on s106 agreements, enforcement matters and appeals.
To be successful in this role you must have excellent interpersonal and IT skills. You will also have a confident methodical and organised approach to your workload, be calm under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
