Senior Placemaking Projects Officer

We’re currently recruiting a Senior Placemaking Projects Officer to play a central role in delivering the council’s regeneration programme, specifically leading projects within the council’s programme of Good Growth Fund projects.

Bexley’s Growth Strategy for the next 30+ years sees the potential, with the right infrastructure investment, for unprecedented levels of new development including up to 31,500 new homes. The Council is continuing to deliver the Greater Erith regeneration programme, adopt a new Local Plan, as well as and developing two of London’s Opportunity Area Planning Frameworks.

Working within the Placemaking Projects Team, you will be managing multi-disciplinary delivery teams and working closely with communities and local stakeholders. You will have an ability to work to agreed timescales and budgets, demonstrate programme and financial management and skills in quality assurance and risk and issue management. You will be able to help cultivate good working relationships with key internal and external partners including communities, the GLA, stakeholders and consultants.

The team delivers the Council’s regeneration and urban design functions and is responsible for the conception, development and delivery of high profile public realm and building projects within the borough, as well as masterplanning and urban design. You will be part of a busy team implementing projects on the ground and developing longer term strategies.

Given the breadth of expertise in the team and the nature of projects we undertake we promote collaborative working and continual CPD, with a programme of learning from colleagues and external partners.

We are looking to appoint at a senior level with this career grade post, which will require demonstrable project management experience in relevant projects.

If your application is successful, you will be appointed at the appropriate scale and starting salary, depending on your skills and experience.  The job specification for the role explains the expectations for the post holder at each job level within the scope of the post.
