Wirral are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious individual to join our highly professional and successful Building Control Team.
Applicants should be qualified, experienced Building Control Surveyors or have surveying/construction experience and qualifications necessary to satisfy the entry requirements for Corporate Membership of CABE or RICS. You should also be a good communicator with an enthusiastic attitude and be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
The role involves undertaking a broad range of Building Control duties including plan assessment and site inspections ranging from small domestic projects to multi-million pound commercial developments, as well as providing professional advice to customers.
The role also involves dealing with dangerous structures, unauthorised work, and other regulatory functions.

Applicants will require:
- Corporate Membership of CABE / RICS or working towards these qualifications
- LABC Fire Safety Level 6 (or equivalent) or working towards this qualification
- To participate in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills
- A focused and commercially aware approach and be looking to improve the way we engage with our customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home. In future, the Council will be moving to a hybrid of working arrangements for many of our roles with a combination of homeworking, office and site working as required.
