Housing Solutions Service Domestic Abuse Support Worker

Fixed Term role for 12 months from Start Date.

 

Knowsley Council has invested in domestic abuse services to ensure that every victim of domestic abuse is offered support, regardless of their risk level. Knowsley also has a dedicated perpetrator/alleged perpetrator pathway targeting challenge and support to non-statutory offenders. In line with the Domestic Abuse Statutory Duty, Knowsley is committed to ensuring that there are appropriate safe accommodation responses and support services for victims and their children impacted upon by domestic abuse. 

This post will be based in the Housing Solutions Service and the Community Safety Team.

To work as a member of the Housing Solutions Service and the Safer Communities Service delivering a victim focussed response to reported issues of domestic abuse. Utilising early interventions to support domestic abuse victim/survivors, encourage behavioural change of domestic abuse perpetrator and work to prevent re-victimisation.

The post holder will deliver targeted and co-ordinated domestic abuse interventions to victim/survivors who require ongoing sanctuary and housing resettlement support to maintain safe accommodation provision. They will also when needed support The Safer Communities Service by contributing to the assessment, planning and intervention for non-statutory domestic abuse perpetrators by providing the parallel support to the victim/survivors of the domestic.

Housing Solutions Domestic Abuse Support Worker (Sanctuary & Resettlement) will work with The Safer Communities Service to assist in the facilitation of a variety of individual and group-based interventions with victim/survivors of domestic abuse.

Responses will be proactive and in addition to supporting the objectives of Knowsley Council will support the activities of The Knowsley Domestic Abuse Partnership Board, Community Safety Partnership, Homelessness Reduction Strategy to ensure that victims are adequately supported.

This post will require excellent creativity, communication, time management and multi-agency working skills.
