Hertfordshire Equipment Service (HES) is jointly funded by HCC and the NHS to provide items of equipment to enable residents to live more independently at home. This can range from small items such as perching stools to more complex items such as specialist beds and mattresses to allow for nursing care at home.
A vacancy has arisen within our team for a Service & Maintenance Technician. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual with a mechanical and/or servicing background, a logical approach to problem solving, a caring work ethic and the drive and desire to play a key role in maintaining excellence in an increasingly busy service.
We’re looking for someone who can work flexibly and as part of a team to support a service that is looking to expand to cover callouts at evenings and weekends. A full driving licence is required for this role and training will be provided, so experience of installing specialist equipment is not necessary, although you will need to demonstrate your technical and practical abilities. Good customer service skills and an empathy for vulnerable service users is also required.
If you are interested in applying for this position, please complete a full supporting statement (2 pages max) detailing your suitability based on the requirements of the role detailed on the attached job outline. If you do not complete a full supporting statement your application may not be considered.
