If you’re discreet and professional with a caring attitude, then we would like to hear from you. Find your greatness by joining our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Team (NEPT) as one of our Ambulance driver/ Care Assistants. You’ll support non-emergency patients by providing first class, safe care during their transportation between hospital/clinic appointments and their home. You’ll also provide the same quality of care when transporting SEND children to and from schools. 

 

Please note that you may be required to work shifts including weekends and/or early morning and/or evenings. You will be based at either the Sandy Depot or at Thorn Turn, Houghton Regis and will be required to cover various locations across Central Bedfordshire.

 

There are multiple positions to fill.

 

Being able to remain calm under pressure is key, as is being willing to undertake training to broaden your knowledge of medical and mental health conditions.  A flexible, adaptable approach is required as every day will be different. 

 

You’ll be able to read, write and speak the English language and be able to understand and follow policies and procedures supplied to you.  A comprehensive training package is provided along with all the benefits of working for Central Bedfordshire Council, which includes a Local Government Pension Scheme and 24 paid days annual leave plus public holidays.
