Housing Support Assistant
At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity and exploring new ways of working.
Our long-term vision for the Borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four Year and Recovery Plans.
The Housing Support Assistant is the first point of contact for enquiries from customers who are in housing need or who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
The role will involve undertaking initial triage assessments and offering Support, Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to customers on a range of housing options in order to assist them to find housing solutions.
The role will also involve providing administrative support to the Housing Services team, dealing with messages and telephone calls received through the Council’s CRM system, post, stationery orders and the scanning and indexing of customers documents.
We are looking for a capable and motivated individual to join our Housing Services team. Ideally you will have experience of working within a housing or customer services background and be interested in supporting and helping people and families who are in housing need.
You will be a team player who is articulate, organised, and motivated to work well under pressure delivering first class housing services. The ability to empathise, and confidently communicate with a wide range of people is essential. If you would like to make a positive impact within the community then this role may be for you.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop a career in Housing. You will gain valuable skills by working within a hardworking and committed Housing Services team and you will be offered training and development.
If you would like an informal discussion, or to hear more about this role, please contact Annette Snell on 01372 732000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
