Team Manager (MARAC and ODOC Lead)

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to join Birmingham Children’s Trust as MARAC and ODOC Team Manager.

A Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) is a victim focused information sharing and risk management meeting attended by all key agencies, where high risk cases are discussed. The role of the MARAC is to facilitate, monitor and evaluate effective information sharing to enable appropriate actions to be taken to increase public safety. In a single meeting, MARAC combines up to date risk information with a timely assessment of a victim's needs and links those directly to the provision of appropriate services for all those involved in a domestic abuse case: victim, children and perpetrator. In Birmingham, MARAC meetings are held daily.

A One Day One Conversation (ODOC) Meeting is focused on exploring potential interventions and disruption strategies for high risk, high harm perpetrators of domestic abuse alongside safety planning for victims where escalating risk is identified. This meeting is attended by all key agencies to ensure effective information sharing which promotes safety for victims of domestic abuse whilst addressing the abusers’ behaviour. This meeting is held once a month.

The successful candidate will have an interest in safeguarding children who experience domestic abuse and promoting good outcomes for victims, attending both MARAC and ODOC as well as working collaboratively with a range of professionals across the Trust and in partner agencies.  You will need to be able to ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is shared to and from MARAC and ODOC and contribute to effective safety planning for children with social workers and family support workers.
