We’re looking for some special people to join our busy but friendly Development Management team, in response to increased workloads arising from exciting major development proposals.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and well organised planning professional. You will need to be a team player with a positive approach, willing to contribute to the delivery of transformational change and continuous improvement to secure excellent customer service. In this Senior Planning Officer role you will deal with a wide range of planning applications, including major planning applications, across the Borough, covering numerous and often complex planning issues. As such you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
The role will require you to have extensive knowledge and experience of the planning system as well as current planning legislation, policies and procedures.
You will be expected to hit the ground running and be able to act on your own initiative, work with minimal supervision, and have the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
We will offer you plentiful and varied experience in a key role within our Development Management service and an opportunity to contribute to the emerging local plan and ultimately its implementation, as well as a commitment to your continual professional development.
