Criminal Justice Recovery Facilitator

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen working with adults and young people in Bracknell Forest who are involved with the criminal justice system. 

This role is pivotal in supporting the reduction of drug and alcohol related offending and supporting people within the criminal justice system to access community drug and alcohols services designed to challenge the links between drug and alcohol use and their offending behaviour. 

We want to help our most vulnerable residents to get their lives firmly on track. It’s why these posts will support people to reduce their levels of offending, engage with  services and re-integrate into the community.  We’re working towards success for our clients. What it's like working in our team...

Drug related offening can lead to people becoming trapped in a cycle of offending behaviour.  It does not only effect the individual.  It also affects their families and the wider community.  Working with aduls and young people who ae involved in the criminal justice system will allow us the engage with offenders at the earliest opportunity and support them to change their lives and build a better future.

Team working  and developing strong working relationships with partner agencies will be essential in ensuring that this service is successful and will benefit the indivudals who access the service.

Relationships with probation and the local Youth Justice Team will be of vital importance in making a difference.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training...

  • To carry out initial screening / assessments, e.g. triage and comprehensive assessments, in respect of adults and young people who are involved with the Criminal Justice system and may be subject to statutory orders. To carry out risk assessments in accordance with organisational and local protocols and risk management plans to address and manage identified risks.
  • Offer general information and harm reduction interventions to service users, including provision of alcohol interventions and brief advice and Naloxone as required.
  • To create initial support plans with service users that addresses immediate need and provides a basis for further interventions.
  • To conduct Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) / Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) assessments and facilitate groups aimed at reducing offending behaviour to this cohort.
  • To assess all young people referred to the Drug Diversion Scheme and deliver the program as required.

What we're looking for...

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the criminal justcue system and knowledge and understand of the impact of drug related offending.  They will be in a position to develop working realtioships with both criminal justice and community partners to optimise opportunities to engage individuals.
