Technical Accountant

We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and friendly team providing expert financial services across the council.  We are seeking a Technical Accountant to provide advice and support across treasury management, capital expenditure & financing, the Collection Fund and VAT.  You will ideally be a CCAB qualified accountant.

You should have a good technical accounting knowledge of some of the areas you will be responsible for and a willingness to proactively develop this understanding to fill any gaps (which we will support). The ability to build good working relationships, influence and challenge senior stakeholders, and explain complex financial information is also essential.

This role requires you to easily move from undertaking detailed “hands-on” finance / accountancy tasks to analysing and advising on complex strategic financial issues. This role offers the opportunity to consolidate and broaden your existing skills and knowledge whilst developing new ones that will enhance your own personal career development.
