Divisional Service Improvement Officer

Role Purpose 

This post holder will test the effectiveness of processes of service delivery and seek practical initiatives, procedural and/or digital innovation to improve the division. 

Key Responsibilities 

You will assist managers in delivering initiatives, improvement projects and related tasks that contribute to the delivery of a cost effective, customer focused Planning and Building Control (and related) Services.

You will work closely with the Divisional client applications officer to undertake specialist improvement projects or initiatives that support the Division.

The post holder will also seek and promote new ways of securing income for the Division, undertaking projects and initiatives that maintain and develop an integrated commercially focused Division.

You will also be the principal point of contact for all procurement, contract management and business activity relating to the use of specialist external consultants in the Division.


The successful candidate will understand processes and have project management experience.

Bid writing and experience of Local Government procurement processes is essential. Business analyst skills will be a significant advantage.
