Commissioning Support Officer

The London Borough of Waltham Forest in partnership with the North East London CCG have implemented a new integrated commissioning structure and arrangements for Waltham Forest.  This exciting development comes at a time when the health and social care sectors are looking to commissioning to support many of the local responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Implementation of the new integrated model is nearly complete with the assimilation of existing staff into new roles that have been designed to think and work across the health and social care spectrum, and who are adapting to their new ways of working. The new team currently has a vacancy as follows:

Commissioning Support Officer - Local Authority PO2

We are seeking a passionate and talented commissioning support officer to assist in a broad range of commissioning activities across the team.  The work will include information and data management, relationship management, critical analysis and the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in frontline care services.  This role will support the development of the team’s relationships with external care markets and providers in specific sectors of the health and social care market.  Suitable candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to assimilate specialist and sometimes complex information quickly, confidence in engaging with organisations outside of the Council, the ability to work at pace and under pressure, and an attention to detail.  The role is subject to matrix management arrangements, and candidates need to be comfortable balancing and prioritising work from multiple directions across the team’s responsibilities.

In the London Borough of Waltham Forest, we take equality and inclusion seriously and are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and difference and is a true reflection of the diverse communities of Waltham Forest. We are committed to fostering an environment that empowers our workforce and gives them the freedom to bring their authentic self to work to provide excellent services to all.
