The starting salary for this role is £24,780 per annum for a 36 hour working week.
Land and Property Services has responsibility for extensive portfolios of operational and non-operational premises, including office buildings, libraries, fire stations, rural land, care homes, and many other types of property. Our diverse service delivers everything Property; designing new buildings, managing, maintaining, and adapting existing buildings, acquiring and selling land and property, and managing tenancies, leases, and other agreements.
This role sits within the Business Infrastructure arm of the Council's Land and Property service. Business Infrastructure provides various support services to the property delivery team.
The role sits more specifically within the Process, Systems and Data support function and will be focussed on supporting the Land and Property Estates Team with the management of their property lease data and associated payments (rent, service charges etc). The Estates Team oversee over 2,000 lease agreements with data, payments and invoicing managed via a Property Management System which interfaces with the Council's corporate finance system. Both the property management system and the finance system are under review and likely to be changed within the next 12 months.
This role will involve the inputting of lease details and data changes and oversight of lease payments and invoicing, including support with the arrears management process and annual budgeting. It will ideally suit someone with experience of property management systems and property management accounting, albeit training will be provided and an aptitude for and interest in systems and data will be an equally relevant consideration.
The team currently operates from our Woodhatch Reigate base but with full flexible working arrangements. Staff will be expected to operate in a flexible way to meet the needs of our customers and work demands, using agile working methods that allow business to be conducted from multiple locations.
To be shortlisted for an interview your application and personal statement must evidence the following as a minimum requirement:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level.
- Willingness to undertake professional/vocational study where appropriate.
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to build sound relationships with customers.
- Good IT skills including database management systems, email, and MS Office.
- Ability to work with others to improve customer service.
- Good administrative, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Able to prioritise and plan own workload in the context of conflicting priorities and work on own initiative.
- A methodical approach to information gathering, recording, and reporting.
- Typically, previous relevant work experience in an environment supporting staff and/or public.
