Finance Officer

The Governing Body of this expanding and thriving school are looking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful individual as Finance Officer to oversee financial duties across the school.

The post holder will join a busy support team and work on a wide range of financial tasks playing a key role in the development and maintenance of financial systems. Responsibilities also include budget-monitoring, securities of all monies, checking and maintaining financial and statistical records in relation to the school bank accounts. You will also ensure that orders for goods and services are processed effectively and have responsibility for the purchasing system through to bank reconciliations, and other tasks to support the Business Manager.

We are looking for a confident, experienced finance professional, who has a self-driven approach to problem solving, a high level of written and verbal communication, literacy and numeracy skills and be experienced in using computerised financial management systems. You will have experience as a finance officer and hold a relevant accountancy/financial qualification or be a suitably experienced practitioner to be able to lead the finance functions.

Experience of FMS in a school setting would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will:
Have a relevant accountancy / finance qualification or equivalent experience
Have knowledge and understanding of financial administration
Be experienced in using computerised financial management system

Have excellent attention to detail, be methodical, analytical and be able to make recommendations
Be highly numerate and literate
Have a good level of ICT skills
Be able to work independently and also be a good team player

Offer flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
Be resilient, enthusiastic and energetic
Demonstrate honesty, reliability, integrity and commitment
