As a Child Protection Conference Chair, you will be pro-active in reducing the likelihood of significant harm to those children and young people in Birmingham, who need a Child Protection Conference. Birmingham Children’s Trust operates under the Strengthening Families Framework and you will ensure that parents and children are enabled to actively engage in the protection planning and review process, ensuring the child’s voice is clearly heard throughout the process.
Paired with your social work qualification, registration with Social Work England, at least 5 years post qualifying experience, preferably including some managerial, and excellent knowledge of current social work practice and research; you will ensure children deemed to be suffering or likely to suffer significant harm engage in the conference process; thus making sure conferences are pitched at the right level in line with the child’s age and level of understanding.
