More Information

Environmental Health Officer

At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

Our long-term vision for the Borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four Year and Recovery Plans.

We are a friendly employer with an opening for an individual to help make a difference in a wide range of environmental health areas including food safety, private sector housing, pollution control and health and safety. Whilst recent food safety enforcement experience is preferred, we will also be happy to consider practitioners looking to broaden their wider environmental health skills. If it’s been a while since you practiced in some of these areas, we will provide full training and support to get you back up to speed.

In return, we offer excellent office accommodation five minutes’ walk from Epsom railway station, heavily subsidised parking if needed, an attractive salary, performance related pay, CIEH subscription fees and eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is an equal opportunities employer.

Closing Date: 5 December 2021

Interview and Assessment: 9 December 2021
