The Housing Initiatives team are responsible for developing and delivering core business functions within a multi-million-pound modern, People and Values led Housing Service, through the provision of high-quality services and support, ensuring customers’ outcomes are at the centre of what is delivered at all times. The Housing Services Manager will find their greatness by playing a key role within a team focussed on improving business performance and driving forward innovative and creative initiatives that reflect the Council’s corporate objective for greatness. 

The team play a key role in innovating, improving business performance, supporting the Housing Service in driving forward innovative and creative initiatives that reflect the Council’s corporate objective for excellence.

The Housing Services Manager is a key management role for the Housing Service, responsible for and managing the “customer focus spine” of the business.

This includes preparation for a new regulatory framework, management, development, and improvement of the tenant engagement process, Housing Feedback (complaints and compliments) process, communications (including social media), project support in its wider sense, Housing’s HR resource strategy, Service and Workforce Planning, training and induction processes, video production, and quality assurance of various initiatives/reports/briefing papers/communications.

The role directly supports the Assistant Director and Housing Management team both to resolve problems and issues but also creates and provides ideas/solutions/improvements to benefit the whole Housing Service. The role holder is required to have wide ranging understanding of the Housing Service and how the activities interconnect. 

The role directly improves the service to benefit customers in several ways, including tenant input to performance, policies and plans, influencing improvements to the customers digital journey, developing action plans from complaints, comments, and compliments, but also through good two-way communication routes. The role will use this feedback and evidence to improve operational services.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working and managing within a housing service setting together with the knowledge and experience of shaping a customer journey through the use of performance monitoring, insight and understanding of the customer experience.
